Port out, shoulder surgery next.

Thank you Father for your presence, for your desire that we KNOW you. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Theresa saw her Oncologist who felt she was doing exceptionally well. He was happy with her progress and with how good she was looking. She still has a mild anemia, but the rest of her labs and exam looked good. He felt she didn’t need her port anymore and so could have it removed. He also felt a few more 3 month visits were enough before moving to every 6 months. It was a very good and encouraging visit. She then saw her Surgeon, who was amazed at how good she looked. He didn’t think she would be here at this point. He took out her port, though it was more scarred down than he normally sees. (this is probably why she got the frozen shoulder). Theresa also saw her Orthopedist who felt she could have her shoulder released at any time. So at the end of June, after our son’s graduation and our week vacation, she will have her shoulder surgery and go through physical therapy during summer break.

Once again we are amazed by God and his bountiful mercies upon us. He obviously intervened and healed Theresa and has given her improved health and vitality. He was pleased to answer all of our prayers, to show He still is actively engaged in our lives and want us to pursue and trust Him.

Experiencing God’s Presence Devotional by Chris Tiegreen, May 27th.

“No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the LORD your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:19”

“I want you to notice a trend. Everything I offer you in My Word eventually is fulfilled in Me. Long ago, I gave your forefathers bread. Centuries later, My Son became the Bread of Life. I gave your ancestors water, and He became the living water. I spoke truth in My Word, but He is the truth. In creation and in the Word, I gave you light, but in the end I become your light. Whatever your soul has longed for has been given in a transient form and will be fulfilled in a personal, eternal form. All you long for is ultimately in this relationship….I have the power to fill you with life, peace and joy. I don’t just give you these things; I am these things. I am the adventure you seek, the treasures you value, the excitement you crave. I am the light you live by and the glory you desire….Step into the glory of My Presence and experience Me.”

This devotional rings so true in our lives. It isn’t the gift as much as it is the gift giver who draws us. In this past year and a half of cancer and healing, his miraculous gift given to us has filled us with thanksgiving; during the same time He has also given Himself. It is His Presence that has sustained us, His people who have lifted us up and helped us. We are in Awe of Him.

Thank you for walking with us and keeping Theresa in your prayers still.

    Hi Paul & Theresa!
I am so glad you are still writing, as it’s been a bit since I’ve checked. It is not the gift, as much as the giver ~ I love that; the gift w/o the giver feels empty. He *is* the gift.

About Doctor Paul

Dr. Paul Williams, MD is a small-town family practice doctor working in Centralia, Washington. He works from the same office where his primary care practice was established by his father over 38 years ago. He believes strongly that the art of the old-fashioned primary care doctor is an important feature of our medical system that should be preserved and protected from excess interference from insurance companies and government regulation alike.

Due to changes in the health care industry and regulations affecting it, and in an effort to preserve the art of old-fashioned primary care, Dr. Paul has shifted his practice to a Direct Care model, meaning that patients pay an affordable monthly fee to purchase primary care health care services directly, rather than having their services billed through an insurance company.

This blog is intended to help Dr. Paul's patients (and anyone else!) understand the changes the medical industry is going through, and to provide information about the Direct Care model of primary care.
