Say Amen

Thank you Father for your faithfulness, your mercy and lovingkindness. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

We thank God for an uneventful past month. Theresa has had steady improvement in health. She is resolute in her eating healthy, avoiding sugar, losing weight and staying active. Sleep still is a struggle as her shoulder still aches at night. She has her appointment with her Radiation Oncologist and Oncologist this week for routine follow up appointments. She will also make an appointment with her Orthopedic doctor to set up a time for her right shoulder surgery. Our oldest son is graduating from High School, so she wants to put it off until after his graduation, as she needs to make the food for that party and needs use of her arm. That Theresa’s health is stable has been a blessing with all else that is going on with the kids, their extra curricular activities, and with building a new office. We have been so blessed. I am sure I will have more to day next month after these coming appointments. We are enjoying the rest and renewal that this season is bringing.

As I think about Mother’s day, of those that may not have been, and reflect on Theresa’s life and character, I am amazed by her. She maintained her quiet gentle disposition despite her suffering. She suffered many a day in quiet and alone while the rest of us were at school or work. She never spoke an angry word, never bitter, never lashed out. She carried herself as she always has carried herself: gently, kind, pleasant, and lovely. I have been amazed at her strong character, her strength under great pressure, and her resolute confidence in God’s faithfulness and lovingkindness even in her darkest days. She has gone through so much and yet she is more beautiful than ever. She has come through this fire with scars and pain, but come through stronger for experiencing God’s presence. And for that we give thanks. We give a big Amen, as this song states. This has been our experience. Thank you Father for loving us as you do.

“Say Amen” Artist: Finding Favour – Album: Reborn

This life is a journey we walk by faith
And there will always be the mountains in our way
But right here in this moment, may our strength be renewed
As we recall what God has done and how we’ve seen Him move

If there’s anybody here who’s found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He’s able
Say Amen
If there’s anybody here who’s seen His power
Anybody here brought through the fire
Say Amen
Anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow
Just say Amen!

Sometimes through the darkness, it’s hard to see
So just be brave and follow where He leads
Cause greater is the one who’s in us than he who’s in the world
So child of God remember, the battle is the Lord’s

If there’s anybody here who’s found Him faithful
Anybody here who knows He’s able
Say Amen
And if there’s anybody here who’s seen His power
Anybody here brought through the fire
Say Amen
Oh anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And seen it time and time again
Then just say Amen!

Even in the valley of the shadow when you feel alone in the unknown
Just say Amen, just say Amen
Oh even when the storms are raging, stand and know your not forsaken
Just say Amen, just say Amen

Is there anybody here? Tell me, is there anybody here?
Come on and say Amen

And if there’s anybody here who’s seen His power
Anybody here brought through the fire
Come on and say Amen
Oh, anybody here found joy in the middle of sorrow
Peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow
And seen it time and time again
Just say Amen!
Just say Amen!

Amen!! What an inspiration you are, Theresa! Thank you, Dr. Paul. Music and the words to songs have helped me a great deal. Scripture set to music helps me remember the words better than just memorizing. For me, things on this earth will never be the same again. But the love, peace ,and hope of our Lord never changes; His mercies never come to end. His faithfulness is eternal. I rejoice with you in the amazing grace you’ve received to get through the pain and strife as you continue to move forward. To God be the glory. Amen.
